The TRF Best Practice Centre aims to support and enable the library community to deliver the very best services to children and young people.
Find out what colleagues are doing by visiting TRF Coffee Break, our online discussion area. The TRF Best Practice Centre celebrates the work of library services across the country. Please send us your case studies or news, using Feedback, or through our Submit Content pages.
To enhance these web based resources, we also offer TRF: The Training Programme Handbook. This handbook gives you a planning framework, guidelines and templates for using the TRF online resources in a whole service training programme for your library staff. The smallest contact with a child or teenager in a library could be the one that makes the difference - that opens up for young people the pleasures and possibilities of libraries and reading, or turns them off forever.
Picture this…a magical place of sharing, learning and discovery…
The positive vibe hits you before you even enter the library, with 'welcome' etched on the sliding automatic doors, an amazing outdoor art project to signal to young people that this is 'their' place, designed as part of a youth involvement project.
The library sign is well-lit, a beacon...Staff want to work here. Everyone wants to be here.
