Using the Summer Reading Challenge

Summer Reading Challenge with Year 7

These materials have been designed by teachers to use as transition activities with students starting secondary school in Year 7.

They include introductory activities for English lessons, Library lessons and lessons with ICT access, and can be mixed and matched to suit the needs of individual schools, teachers and students.

They are based around some of the content of the Team Read Summer Reading Challenge and the Extreme Team Read website at www.teamread.co.uk.

These activities can be used with classes where some students have taken part in the summer reading challenge, whilst others are new to the concept.
