Setting the Scene

Philip has come into the library at a loose end on a rainy holiday afternoon. He wanders round the shelves but clearly nothing attracts. He then says to you that he can't find a new book to read... "they're all boring."

How might you help him?

Option Description
A Tell him about the really interesting children's books you have read recently.
B Say "What books have you enjoyed in the past? What would your perfect book be like?"
C Tell Philip there are "lots of lovely books in the library", find him the newly-arrived books about in-line skating and give him the latest pop and football magazines
