How to use the Manager's Package

Selective use of the Manager's Package

You may choose not to work through the whole package in one block but concentrate in turn on one of the key areas in the package. These are:

  • Libraries, reading and young people: the wider picture (sections 1 and 2)
  • Planning and evaluation (section 3)
  • Building skills (sections 4, 5, 6 and 7)
  • Advocacy (section 8)

Focus activity

It will help if you decide on a particular service activity which you can use as the focus for your practice in using these TRF website resources.

For example you may be planning to set up reading groups.

When you work through the sections ‘Planning and Evaluation’ (section 3) and ‘Getting your message across’ (section 8), and use the planning tables provided there, you can base your practice examples on reading groups.

When you are working on the building skills sections (4,5,6 and 7)  decide which skills are most necessary for your focus activity of reading groups, and which resources in these TRF sections would help build these skills.
