Using the Evidence

Once you have gathered, collated, analysed and interpreted your evidence, you can use it for:

  • Reviewing the success of the activity. Did it work? Should you continue it? Should you change it?
  • Future planning and service improvement and development

Advocacy for your service:

As an example of how evidence can be used in advocacy, here is an advocacy document (Word 101kb) which is now being used both locally and nationally to make the case for libraries and their work with young readers.

Step 6 - How You Will Use the Evidence

Use the last column in your Planning table to note how you will be using the evidence collected - and to complete your delivery plan for the outcome you chose! See the worked example (this link opens a new window) for some key uses of evidence in advocacy and service planning.
