TRF: The National Vision

Public Libraries' work with readers: a shared mission (PowerPoint presentation, 124Kb)
This presentation has been developed by library services for library services. It defines libraries' work with readers and provides supporting information to help libraries in advocacy for their services.

TRF: The Training Programme Handbook
The Training Programme Handbook gives you a planning framework, guidelines and templates for using the TRF online resources - in a whole service training programme for your library staff. TRF: The Training Programme is a Reading Agency initiative funded by DCMS through the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA).

National Library Offer to Young People (pdf, 31kb) is based on extensive research, consultation and best practice of many library services offering services to young people.

Self assessment framework: working with children and young people is a professional development workbook published by MLA. The workbook outlines the Common Core Framework of Skills and Knowledge for the Children’s Workforce, which reflects a set of common values and defines the basic skills and knowledge needed by those working with children, young people and families. The Framework interprets the six areas of expertise from the Every Child Matters Common Core Framework and provides a workforce development toolkit to assist in their implementation. The Framework can be used by staff and volunteers in all museums, libraries and archives.
